Parallel to the increasing world population, our built environment is also developing, transforming, and growing daily. With the effect of globalization and technology, interregional information exchange has increased, and intercultural communication has been enriched. In light of these developments, it is undeniable that societies' social, cultural, and economic growth has accelerated. After graduation from the study program of Interior architecture, students have a Bachelor of Interior Architecture and Design title. The profession of interior architecture, which is within the disciplines of design and whose application areas vary, city and regional planning, industrial product design, interior architecture, architecture, as well as emerging as a result of the requirements of the age, is responsible for the differing daily life needs of people and is interconnected with each other. Interior architecture mostly covers the design of interior spaces of buildings. It participates in the design, project, and implementation phases of many functions, such as public buildings, cultural and educational buildings, accommodation units, and residential buildings. Social developments bring the quality of the built environment to the agenda, and user expectations for spatial arrangements to be high quality, useful, and aesthetic are increasing day by day. The Interior Architecture Program aims to develop and implement functional, aesthetic, sustainable, and original designs that will respond to users' needs by evaluating the possibilities of developing technology with its human-oriented approach. Creating healthy, comfortable, and sustainable living spaces, designing spatial elements, and ensuring the unity of indoor and outdoor arrangements are also among the main topics of the department, not limited to the interior space.

MISSION

 Department of Interior Architecture tends to understand education, which focuses on developing critical perspectives in the context of human-space relations, space design, and perception, can question within the framework of current theories, has the necessary knowledge and technical equipment for the spatialization of designed ideas, can work individually and as a team, It is based on the idea of dealing with economic, psychological, artistic and technical issues from a holistic perspective. Our students are prepared with high-level technical, technological, and practical applications by adapting to the global world.

ABOUT THE COURSES

The Department of Interior Architecture is a program with a 3-year education period and is within our school's Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. The language of education is Turkish. In addition to technical knowledge and technological knowledge required by professional practice, the skills of determining the physical and psychological needs of the user, designing for these outputs, and presenting the design with appropriate expression techniques are the main topics covered in the courses. Along with the studios of the Department of Interior Architecture, studies focusing on subjects such as art, history of architecture and interior architecture, knowledge of construction and materials, use of color and presentation techniques, and architectural simulation form the department's curriculum. The curriculum, which aims to deal with theoretical knowledge and practical production together, is aimed to prepare students for a professional career with Occupational Practices at Work internship.
