Civil engineering is recognized as one of the most important engineering fields in the world. The industry solves real-world problems by designing, building, managing, and maintaining the infrastructure that plays a vital role in developing countries and supports modern society. With the widespread use of internet technology, smart homes, smart roads, smart vehicles, and driverless vehicles will continue to take place in our lives more and more with each passing day. Civil engineers also closely follow current and developing technologies. The wide working area of civil engineering is one of the most important reasons why it is preferred, and it will continue to serve as long as people exist. The working areas include buildings, bridges, roads, airports, dams, sewer systems, flood mitigation works, etc.; this list has no end. Civil engineers are at the forefront of innovation in our societies. The Department of Civil Engineering has a program that covers basic information about civil engineering and includes information on construction, hydraulics, transportation, and geotechnics. It adopts the principle of developing students' creativity and providing them with research, design, planning, and application skills. Our primary goal is to raise graduates who can produce scientific ideas for the society they live in, develop themselves, analyze and synthesize, are researchers, socially advanced, and know their moral, ethical, legal, and professional responsibilities towards their profession and society. It is aimed that our graduates will be able to use their knowledge in the education process correctly in their professional life and adapt to innovations. As a faculty, our biggest goal is to increase the quality of undergraduate education in our departments and ensure that you grow as a good engineer.

As the Department of Civil Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, we follow a training program that follows the current technological developments and provides basic engineering education best with our distinguished faculty members. The civil engineering education program allows students to model and solve real-world technical problems with computational approaches. Today, the understanding of new-generation education is changing in a way that will enable universities to turn into an entrepreneurial structure technologically and create opportunities to allow students to produce projects where they can demonstrate their talents. In this sense, participation of undergraduate students in research projects carried out at our university, support from research institutions in graduation projects, and participation in national/international project competitions are encouraged. With university-industry collaborations, we aim for our students to do their internships in the best possible way and to prepare for their business life during their student years. ABOUT THE COURSES

The Department of Civil Engineering has been formed with courses that contain information that can be used at all levels of working life. Our students take mathematics, engineering graphics, design geometry, and fluid mechanics courses in the first year. After these courses, building materials, soil mechanics, computer-aided design, concrete technology, steel structures, transportation highways, topography, infrastructure design, basic construction, statics, management and organization, load-bearing systems, modern methods of calculation of concrete structures, seismic design of engineering structures. , flexibility and boundary loads in structures, new structures, and materials in construction. In addition to these courses, advanced elective courses are offered to our students in which they can develop themselves in line with their interests. In addition to all these courses, our students are prepared for the future with classes and lessons that enable the development of speaking and writing skills in foreign languages.
